Diagnostic Imaging

X-ray being taken in-house.

Conducting an Echo Cardiography to evaluate the heart.

It is amazing what can be found without surgery inside your pet’s body, with the right imaging equipment and if the right person is looking. Our specialists, certified in radiology, work closely with your pet’s medical team, using state-of-the-art imaging techniques and interpretation procedures to obtain an accurate diagnosis or to verify treatment progress.

Our Imaging Modalities

Happy Tails Veterinary Speciality uses digital radiography (X-rays), which provides quicker, clearer and faster images than film X-ray. A digital X-ray is taken and processed in mere four seconds! Like a digital photo, a digital radiograph can be enhanced after it is taken, allowing us to highlight the image in ways that are not possible with film X-ray.

Ultrasound allows the veterinarian to visualize and examine many body organs and systems, including the liver, gall bladder, spleen, kidney, pancreas and bladder. Sedation is rarely necessary unless ultrasound-guided biopsies are being performed.

If your family veterinarian has referred your pet for an outpatient ultrasound, please be aware of the following:

To obtain the best quality images, pet’s fur will be shaved from the body part to be imaged.

Our staff will provide a report to your veterinarian with electronically transferred image. However, we do not provide X-ray prints. If need arises, we do facilitate and supervise CT & MRI procedures including contrast studies as well as interventional procedures under sedation and anesthesia with tie ups at human imaging clinics.

Endoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that allows visualization of various organs by introducing a small camera.

Rhinoscopy is procedure allowing the examination of the nasal cavity for any abnormalities

Gastroscopy facilitates the diagnosis of various structural abnormalities associated with the gastro intestinal tract.

Otoscopy allows the detailed examination of the ear canal.
